YOUR INNER CHILD. ESSENTIAL SELF.
HEART CENTER.

Whatever you call it, there is a divine truth inside each of us that holds the key to everything.
While there is much we may never understand, these simple words I know to be true.

WILD IS OUR NATURAL STATE

PLAY IS SERIOUS BUSINESS

LOVE IS THE ANSWER

We all start out knowing magic.
We are born with whirlwinds, forest fires, and comets inside us.
We are born able to sing to birds and read the clouds
and see our destiny in grains of sand.
But then we get the magic educated right out of our souls.
We get it churched out, spanked out, washed out, and combed out.
We get put on the straight and narrow and told to be responsible.
Told to act our age.
Told to grow up, for God’s sake.
And you know why we were told that?
Because the people doing the telling were afraid of our wildness and youth,
and because the magic we knew made them ashamed and sad
of what they’d allowed to wither in themselves.

– Robert McCammon

It took me a few decades to realize I didn’t need to be any more or any less than what my heart was calling me to be. That kind of realization came after reconciling a lifetime of self-doubts and surrounding myself with other believers in our inherent goodness and worthiness. As you know, this is the work of a lifetime, an ongoing practice so to speak. Seems the entire world is hellbent on convincing us we are not worthy, of love, of health and wellbeing, of financial abundance, and if we only buy XYZ, we can cover up our ugliness and maybe, just maybe, be good enough.

“The artist is no other than one who is willing to unlearn what he has learned,
in order to know himself.”
– e.e. Cummings

I’ve created a few things for others seeking to reconnect with their own wisdom. I’d be honored to have you share a part of your journey with me.

A couple of times a year I host the Free Mosaics of our Lives Writing Journey, and I also offer a fun and interactive eCourse where we use journaling as a tool for self-discovery. It’s called the Wand in the Word eCourse.

So glad you’re here!
