On the Road Again!

Travel does more than take us to a new destination.
It moves us to a new way of being.

It’s official–we’re going to Mexico! Oaxaca City…next month!

This news is as big of a surprise to us, as it is to you.

We had resigned ourselves to sticking around California for another year while we diligently saved for our dream boat. We were however, planning a US road trip during the month of  July, to celebrate Diego’s US citizenship which he received earlier this year, but then I met Lisa.

An artist living in Oaxaca, Lisa wrote a book called The Creative Entrepreneur which I discovered through a circle of girlfriends a few years ago.

The four of us would meet sporadically and do activities from SARK’s Make Your Creative Dreams Real, and Lisa’s The Creative Entrepreneur.  At the time,  we were all mothers to young children, with loose ideas and even looser plans for how to pursue them. Our get togethers were more fun than serious business planning, but fast forward three years and each of us girlfriends is now actively pursuing what once seemed like lofty and unreachable dreams. (See giving your dreams airtime and room to play is powerful stuff!)

Then, just a few months ago, Lisa turned up in an on-line blogging group I belong to. One thing lead to another, and next thing I know, one of the major influencers that guided me to taking my own leap into creating an unconventional life, asks me to become a part of this transformative body of work she’s spent over a decade creating.

To be honest the whole way Lisa and I found one another seems a little like magic, and it reminds me of the beginning of a new romance.

One where you’re a little nervous, and you wonder if your crush is going to call, and do they really like you, and are they too good to be true. But then every time you talk, you become more sure that, no this person really is amazing, and you were meant to meet, and you are in fact at the perfect place at the perfect time. But then you sort of play it cool, because you know, you don’t want to scream oh my gawd, I’ve waited my whole life for you. But you do in fact, just feel it in your bones. It’s all happening, and it’s all perfect.

It was the same when I met Diego. There were no fireworks or butterflies, it was just a deep knowing that we would be together from that day forward. And if it didn’t work out, we could always get divorced. (I know, I’m such a hopeless romantic, right.)

No joke–that was my exact stream of thoughts. Two kids and eight years later, we’re still in love.

And that is how this dance with Lisa and the Creative Entrepreneur has been. We’re headed to Oaxaca to become part of Lisa’s creative team as she scales her business to reach more people; To change more lives. I believe in this work so deeply, that I’m rearranging my life around it. At least for a while.

Lisa has designed a beautiful blueprint for other artists and creatives to create a business and life they love, and I am going to be apart of bringing that to more people. This body of work lights me up on every level possible.

The universe is a powerful force folks–I’m here to tell you manifesting may sound woo woo and new agey–but it works!

And you dear reader, can benefit from one of the first projects I’ll be apart of! Lisa offers a free 30 Day Journal Course to making your creative dreams real. It runs the month of July, and it’s free. You can sign up to do it with us here:

So where is Oaxaca?

The state of Oaxaca and Oaxaca City at the southern part of mainland Mexico, just above the border of Guatemala.

Announce-1

Lonely Planet says Oaxaca is one of Mexico’s most captivating cities. It also appears to be surrounded by mountains, with a plethora of nature waiting for us to hike and explore.

We’re planning to drive the bus the whole way and will leave shortly after our annual High Sierra Music Festival fix in July. The idea is to take it slow and spend about three weeks camping and enjoying the ride as we go.

I’ll be sharing what I discover with you as I research and plan our trip. If you have any recommendations for places we should stop along the coast on our way south, shout it out.

Yay! Here’s to the next adventure!

Don’t forget to sign up for the Journal Project with me! If I can do it from a bus on the road, packed with all my earthly possessions, two kids and my husband…you can do it from the comfort of your living room!

Hi Tiffany, I’m also a member of the same FB blogging group – what exciting news! We love Oaxaca and spent several weeks there this Spring. After having vehicle related issues in Guatemala, we’re back in CA to do a motor swap on our ’81 Westfalia. If you haven’t crossed the border yet, it’d be fun to meet up in SoCal. Cheers and congrats!

      HEY Jacqui!

Thanks for stopping by! That would be awesome! I’d love to get any recommendations for what we should see, do, skip on our way down.

We’re hoping to head out the end of next week. I’ll track you down in BB and get your contact info.

Looking forward to meeting up either in California, or on your way to Guatemala!

      Xo
